Students in Typography I are asked to draw over 100 sketches before choosing their best three ideas to present and subsequently narrowing it to the best solution. The goal of this project is to take a word and deepen our understanding of it through the use of clever typography.
For instance, the word “doll” has several connotations and Alyssa’s typography denotes a voodoo doll. Similarly, John typographically communicates that Barry Bond’s home run record will always have an asterisk next to it because of his alleged steroid use.
